Bank of Srenluna

The Bank of Srenluna is a financial institution in Srenluna, the capital of North Urushee. Its primary facility resides in the city's High District, though it has many smaller branches across all of Urushee, as well as connections and partnerships with other services in a few select locations of the rest of Erra, such as in the nation of Akzu. It provides two distinct levels of service - One open for the general public, and a special enrollment to the Bank's Registry, that grants access to additional services.

History

The Bank of Srenluna is one of few institutions to have survived the tumultuous events of The Collapse, largely speculated to be due to the sheer amount of wealth and power invested in it. Originally founded in 536 by Arlen Srenluna, the Bank was created to facilitate large scale transactions between wealthy tribes of Urushee as a "middle man" service. The Bank provided its own courier service and neutrality to ongoing negotiations and arrangements, and swiftly grew to become a dominant power in the country in its own right. When the advent of Arcane Machina would result in the nation's rapid industrialisation, the Bank used its vast resources to influence the creation of a new capital for Urushee, named after its founder.

Primary Function

To the majority of individuals, particularly those that are not members of the Bank's Registry, the primary use of the Bank of Srenluna is to deposit and withdraw belongings, be it Gold or other significant items. The money or wares deposited are tracked by the employees of the individual branches and recorded in ledgers, which are regularly collected by the Bank and reported back to the primary institution via DCD broadcasts. In turn, the Bank will make daily reports via DCD to all branches via a simultaneous broadcast that details changes made to the balances of accounts for the purposes of recordkeeping. Due to the nature of this system, it often takes several days for a customer's finances to accurately update within the Bank before anything can be withdrawn.

Items that are deposited to the Bank of Sreluna must be of at least a collective 500 Gold in value, and may require the usage of courier services to deliver to other areas of the lands depending on their rarity.

Registry

To gain access to the Bank of Srenluna's Registry, an individual must visit the Bank's headquarters in the High District of Srenluna. This immediately disqualifies most citizens of Erra from membership, as the High District requires either referral from individuals that already reside there, or proof of wealth to the sum of at least 10,000 Gold. Once at the Bank, an individual must deposit 2000 Gold into their account when opening it, as both means of a credit check and as an insurance policy for any immediate misgivings - This 2000 Gold cannot be withdrawn from the account without the intention of closing it, and removal from the Registry.

Additional Services

Once an individual has been entered into the registry at the Bank of Srenluna, they gain access to the majority of the services offered by the institution;

• Secure Deposits and Withdrawals
  • Individuals may leave any amount of Gold they desire with the Bank of Srenluna in registered safe deposit boxes, or even individual vaults if their wealth is significant enough. The balances of an individual's account are typically self reported, but are investigated by the Bank regularly.
• Secure Courier Services
  • The Bank of Srenluna will often utilise the Grand Urusheen Railway to deliver cargo, mail, and other items requested by their individuals. The trains used for this are typically heavily guarded, as they are primarily used to transport Gold between the bank and its lesser branches, as well as financial records to be distributed between them.
• Auctioneering
  • Customers of the Bank can give the organisation permission to auction valuable items in either the High District or Closed Door District of Srenluna. These auctions are available to any that can attend those areas of the capital.
• Contracting
  • The Bank of Srenluna has a significant network of contracts between the many organisations of Erra, from mercenaries to manufacturers, to even some Dwarven clans, and for a fee this network can be used to arrange meetings or services with them.

Expulsion from Service

Any attempts by an individual that violate the trust or conditions of the Bank of Srenluna result in an immediate expulsion from the registry and confiscation of all held money and/or belongings. These offences include inaccurate reporting of one's own finances, theft from the Bank in any shape or form (Be it directly, from its branches, or from its Train services), or misuse of their services in any way that would either damage the Bank of Srenluna directly or its reputation. Additionally, the Authority of Srenluna can request an individual's account be closed immediately without cause. Additionally, the Bank is capable of blacklisting individuals that are not on the Bank's Registry, at which point they will be unable to use any services provided by its branches as well.

If a person who has been expelled from the Bank's registry is able to return their status to good standing, or otherwise make amends with the Bank (Or individuals that authorised the closure of their account), their finances will be reinstated.
